Hi all,
We enjoyed a great holiday in Sacramento. Karen's parents drove up from Yuma and we came down from PDX to stay in a very nice 2 BR 2 BA condo with a full kitchen (lots of holiday cooking!). We did the drive down and back in 2 legs each, and Katie was an easy passenger--very content and never even got around to watching a video on the final day of driving.
With so much going on we didn't really settle down and celebrate until Christmas Eve, but it was lovely. We bought a tree to decorate together, and hung some decor around the apartment as well to give it a real holiday feel. We made some special meals and went through a box of Christmas crackers. There were lots of presents under the tree: John got a little remote control helicopter with which to terrorize everyone, Karen got a book she'd been longing for, and Katie got--lots of toys of course.
We're very glad to be home and hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We certainly missed everyone on John's side of the family. We left some things under the tree to open when Mum comes over to stay for the New Year, so we'll have a second little family celebration. It's snowing like the dickens at the moment, so that helps extend that Christmas feeling!
Below is a snap of the weather today, and Christmas in Sacramento. Have a fabulous 2010!
