Kathryn and family in the new year
2007 is here, and it brings many changes in Katie's interactions. Many more smiles with a bit more crying thrown in to keep us on our toes.

Here is Katie with her new friend, Senor Turtle. She ususally shows her friendship by slobbering on him!

Her smiles are a mile wide but toothless at this point. In fact it seems weird that she will have teeth in the near future...

I know it is hard to see, but this is Kathryn's first snowflake! It snowed for about 3 minutes, and she got a snowflake on her head.
Her hands are amazing. They can be curled tightly into a fist for an entire sleeping session, or placed together looking so calm for the next session. Usually, though, they are flailing at the end of her arms!

Kathryn when she does not want to be in her bouncer. This is usually while we are wolfing down our food while it is still lukewarm. Or, whenever a hat is in the same room with her while she is conscious.
She has found her thumb and nose at the same time! Thumbs, fingers, and all clothing gets pulled into her mouth just before feeding time.

The changing table is a happy place for Katie anyway!
Christmas started early when Mom came up from Yuma to be with her daughter while John was away in Chicago 4 days before Christmas. They had a great visit, and we can't thank Mom and Dad enough for her being here. But we'll try:
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Mom had to leave for Christmas back in Yuma. At the airport on Christmas Eve:

Unbeknownst to her, Katie played Santa in 2006! She did very well indeed.
Santa brought a train much to the surprise of Dad and Katie! Very cool. The train bug bites early in our family.

Kathryn sporting one of her many new gifts. Thank you to all of the gift givers and well wishers.
Your thoughtfulness is astounding and overwhelming.

We'll post some more images soon. We have many more where these came from. Have a great 2007.
